1. About Tirumala Tirupati

Sri Venkateswara Swami temple in Tirumala โ€” popularly known as Tirupati Balaji โ€” is the richest and most visited temple in the world, receiving over 50,000โ€“100,000 pilgrims every day. Located on the seventh peak (Venkatachala) of the Tirumala Hills in Andhra Pradesh, at 853 metres above sea level, this temple is the embodiment of divine grace and the Vaishnavite tradition of South India.

"It is said that Balaji himself invites every devotee who stands at his door. The enormous wealth of Tirupati is returned entirely to the people through hospitals, schools and free meals โ€” the Lord's abundance is endless."

5. How to Reach Tirumala

Tirupati city is the base โ€” reached by train (major junction connected to all of India) or by air (Tirupati airport). From Tirupati, Tirumala is 18 km by road through a beautiful ghat road. TTD buses run continuously; private taxis are also available. The walk up the ghat steps (Alipiri or Srivari Mettu) through the forest is also a devotional experience in itself.
