Brahma Muhurtham (Brahma Muhurta, Brahmi Muhurta) is the most sacred auspicious period of the day, occurring approximately 96 minutes before sunrise and lasting 48 minutes. It is named after Lord Brahma, the creator deity, because this is when creation energy is at its cosmic peak.

Scriptural Authority: The Śatapatha Brāhmaṇa (Vedic text) connects the pre-sunrise period with Agnihotra. The Skanda Purāṇa describes Lord Rama waking at Brahma Muhurtham daily. Ancient rishis performed all their most important spiritual practices during this period. The Bhagavad Gita also references the pre-dawn as the most sattvik (pure) time.

Why This Period Is Supreme: Atmospheric prana (oxygen/life force) is at its highest concentration. The mind is clear after night's rest, free from daily distractions. Brahma's creative energy is most accessible. Neural plasticity is highest — learning and memory retention peak.
