Gulika Kalam — The Principle of Repetition
Gulika Kalam (also called Gulika Kaal, Kuligai Neram, Gulikan Neram) is the period associated with Gulika — the son of Saturn (Shani) and a sub-planet in Vedic astrology. Unlike Rahu Kalam and Yamagandam, Gulika Kalam operates on a unique principle that makes it partially beneficial.
The Repetition Principle — Gulika's Secret: Whatever you BEGIN during Gulika Kalam will REPEAT. This cuts both ways: good things repeat (beneficial!) and bad things also repeat (harmful!). This makes Gulika Kalam the most nuanced inauspicious period — less universally bad, more situationally dependent.
Actually Good During Gulika Kalam: Buying a house (repetition = more property), purchasing gold (wealth accumulates), starting savings schemes (compound growth), beginning education (knowledge compounds), agricultural activities (harvest repeats). In Kerala, Gulika Kalam is devoted to Goddess Bhagavathi — temple worship during this time is auspicious.
Strictly Avoid: Death rituals (CRITICAL — must not be repeated), taking loans (debt multiplies), selling property (may have to sell again), legal disputes (drag on), medical procedures you don't want repeated.
