1. What is Lalitha Sahasranamam?
The Lalitha Sahasranamam is one of the most sacred texts in the Shakta tradition โ containing 1000 names of Goddess Lalitha Tripura Sundari, the supreme Mother who is beauty, power and grace incarnate. It appears in the Brahmanda Purana and is narrated by the eight Vag Devis (speech goddesses) to the sage Agastya.
Unlike many hymns that describe a deity's mythology, the Lalitha Sahasranamam is fundamentally a philosophical and tantric document โ each name describes an aspect of the goddess's cosmic nature, her creative power (Shakti), her form, her abode (Sri Chakra), or her relation to the devotee.
"The Lalitha Sahasranamam is not just a prayer โ it is a complete spiritual education. One who understands all 1000 names understands the entire philosophy of Shakta Tantra and the nature of the Supreme Mother."
